Dr. Maichou Lor received an Ignite Grant Program for Applied Research award to support the study, “Digital Toolkit to Support Caregiver Pain Communication with Providers.”
The primary goal of the project is to enhance innovative Hmong word recognition tests by developing and evaluating an AI-automated scoring approach to support hearing evaluations and assess the feasibility of implementing this innovation in a simulated audiology clinic.
For UW–Madison School of Nursing alum and professor Dr. Maichou Lor, creating tools to address culturally-appropriate care and improve clinical practice means patients’ symptoms are no longer lost in translation.
The primary goal of Dr. Lor’s project is to pilot test a web-based communication training intervention to help Hmong bilingual caregivers document their care recipients’ pain information.
