Why Your Support Matters
Wisconsin is facing a nursing crisis
According to the Wisconsin Center for Nursing, the nursing workforce shortfall could hit 27,700 by 2040. Nursing programs can’t graduate enough nurses annually to mitigate this crisis.

We need to educate more nurses
Only 41% of qualified applicants are accepted at the UW-Madison School of Nursing. We need to educate more nurses who are prepared to meet changing and diverse health needs of the future, as clinicians, scientists, educators, and policy makers.

We need more nurse educators to meet the demand
There are 1,715 vacant nursing faculty positions nationally. We need more doctorally prepared nurses to become the next generation of teachers and mentors.

You can make a lasting impact
Your gifts to the School of Nursing enable more students to become nurses or develop their careers; grow the number of faculty to teach and research; and funds important innovative research to improve health for all.
