Dr. Jingxi Sheng Awarded Grant to Study Breast Cancer Awareness and Risk Education for Asian Americans

Jingxi Sheng, PhD, RN, was awarded a 2025 Collaborative Health Equity Research Pilot Award to support the study Breast Cancer Awareness and Risk Education for Asian Americans (CARE): Program development. The study is co-sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) and the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP).

The primary goal of this project is to develop a community-based, prevention-focused breast cancer prevention program titled “Breast Cancer Awareness and Risk Education for Asian Americans (CARE)”, tailored to the Asian American communities to increase breast cancer awareness and enhance knowledge of screening and risk reduction. The investigative team includes Drs. Maichou Lor and Lisa Cadmus-Bertram (Kinesiology). Partners include the Community Advisors on Research Designs and Strategies (CARDS). The total award is $74,847.
