Dr. Kitty Montgomery, PhD, RN, PCNS-BC, CPHON, was awarded a grant to support the study A Feasibility Study Exploring Discordance Between Child and Parent Symptom Reports During Cancer Treatment. The study is funded by the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center’s Palliative and Supportive Care Pilot Project program. The primary research aim is to generate preliminary data to address knowledge gaps in our understanding of the symptom experience of children with cancer, including recognition and perception of the symptom experience and identification of factors that influence discordance between child self-report and caregiver-proxy report of symptoms.
