Megan Zuelsdorff, PhD, was awarded a Fall Research Competition grant to support the study Social-to-biological Mechanisms in Dementia Risk and Disparity: The Role for Stress and Social Resources in Vascular Disease Management. The study is funded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education.
The primary research aims are to explore social determinants (e.g., recent stress, discrimination, social support) of vascular disease management and poorly controlled disease as a mechanism linking social determinants to Alzheimers’s Disease and Related Dementias outcomes in a geographically and racially diverse sample.
