Dr. Megan Zuelsdorff, PhD, was awarded a Pandemic-Affected Research Continuation Initiative grant to support the study Stress and Resilience in Dementia: Social-biological Dimensions of Alzheimer’s Risk and Resilience Across Diverse Communities. The grant is funded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education. The primary research aim is to collect pilot data that will enable preliminary modeling of the influence of stress and social resources on population-relevant markers of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) in three historically excluded and understudied communities – African American, Native American, and rurally-residing local populations. The total award costs are $18,500. Congratulations to Dr. Megan Zuelsdorff!
