Gina Bryan, DNP, APRN, FAAN was recently featured in the Wisconsin State Journal, discussing her work as a clinical professor and psychiatric-mental health certificate coordinator at the School of Nursing. In this role, she works collaboratively with colleagues, doctor of nursing practice (DNP) students, and Badger nurse alumni to serve communities across the state, all while balancing teaching duties and her clinical practice.
“As an undergraduate student at UW–Madison, I had the good fortune of participating in an independent study at a county mental health center, learning from a psych mental health nurse practitioner who was quite simply excellent,” Bryan said. “I saw what true community-based, person-centered mental health care could look like when provided in a manner rooted in social justice.”
