Britta Lothary is an adult nurse practitioner with experience in adult cardiology and nephrology. She teaches Pharmacology in the Traditional BSN Program and undergraduate clinicals in the adult setting with emphasis on prioritization, application, and critical thinking. She is a dedicated instructor who enjoys incorporating active learning in the classroom and encouraging students to build a strong foundation of nursing practice.
Clinical Scholarship focus areas
Teaching and Learning
- Continuous development of pharmacology active learning assignments including virtual breakout room, mystery box activity, and pill bottle exercise.
- Created UWHC EPIC Health Link Onboarding and Practice Charting for Nursing Students with UW Health Informatics Team UWHC Nursing Education Specialist.
- Developed and implemented School of Nursing Support Circles to support the diverse student population post-admission to the nursing program.
- Created and implemented SoN NCLEX Board Prep Supplemental Class for TBSN and ABSN cohorts.
Community Outreach and Engagement
- Lead Nursing Instructor for Grandparent University sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
