Community Outreach and Engagement

UW–Madison School of Nursing faculty participate in outreach efforts to identify priorities within the community, engaging with others to build authentic and mutually beneficial relationships.

Faculty use evidence-based practices to empower patients.

Their scholarship focuses on:

• Sharing information and expertise with the public in community forums such as presentations, simulation activities, and health care fairs.
• Providing health education outreach to urban and rural communities about various topics including geriatric care, maternal health, mental health, and global and planetary health.
• Participating in Academic Practice Partnerships (APP) to support scholarly projects and collaborations between research and clinical nursing.
