Kelly Krainak, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, and Cierra McCoy, BSN, RN, both PhD students at the School of Nursing, have been selected as part of the 2024-2026 cohort of Jonas Scholars. The cohort consists of 63 promising doctoral students from 25 states and 45 different schools of nursing.
Both Krainak and McCoy’s research focuses on underserved populations. They will be paired with mentors and receive significant funding towards their education, with additional funding available if they accept a faculty position. Jonas Scholar alumni have gone on to serve as faculty, researchers, and leaders in academic nursing.
