Dr. Wan-chin Kuo Receives Grant to Study Exercise Forecasting and Motivation Strategies for Truckers

Wan-chin Kuo, PhD, RN, was awarded a Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety Education and Research Center award to support the project: Defy The Odds: Exercise Forecasting and Motivation Strategies for Truck Drivers.

The primary goal of the study is to shift the focus from traditional goal setting and self-monitoring to self-efficacy and motivation, with the objective to examine whether the idea of “Exercise Forecasting in Truckers (E-FIT)” works for truck drivers and whether integrating E-FIT into personalized motivation messages is feasible.

The investigative team includes Dr. Tony McDonald (Industrial and System Engineering), and the total award is $19,982.
