Dr. Rachel Gicquelais, PhD, and co-investigator Dr. Gina Bryan, DNP, APRN, FAAN, were awarded the ICTR Clinical & Community Outcomes Research grant to support the study Expanding Access to Naloxone: Developing a Person-Centered Naloxone Prescribing Intervention for People Living with Opioid Use Disorder. They designed the study together. Dr. Bryan’s clinical experience working in community mental health settings helped underscore the importance of expanding overdose prevention services for people living with opioid use disorder.
The study is funded by the ICTR and the Wisconsin Partnership Program April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022. The primary research aim is to develop a person-centered naloxone distribution intervention for use in Wisconsin organizations providing treatment for opioid use disorder. The investigative team includes Dr. Gina Bryan, Dr. Randall Brown, Dr. Todd Molfenter, Dr. Nora Jacobson and Dr. Barb Bowers. Tellurian Inc. is a community partner.
