
UW–Madison School of Nursing faculty lead interdisciplinary efforts to advocate for changes in health policy and systems improvements. These changes directly impact the lives of individual patients in Wisconsin and beyond.
Their scholarship focuses on:
- Developing strategic workforce interventions using nursing workforce survey data reports and addressing labor demands.
- Improving health care systems through patient care delivery models, system innovations, and patient safety and quality of care initiatives.
- Advocating for better health care policy through writing policy briefs, serving on the Wisconsin Nurses Association’s Public Policy Committee, providing public hearing testimony, and advancing legislation that improves nursing practice and patient access to care.
- Advancing and evaluating public health programs and community health improvement projects.
