Weiqi Chen, PhD, RN

Biography

Dr. Chen’s research focuses on the prevention of alcohol-involved sexual violence and risky sexual behaviors among young adults. She aims to develop innovative, technology-based, and accessible interventions that reduce the likelihood of engaging in risky or violent sexual behaviors in alcohol-involved contexts. In addition, her research advances the understanding of condom use resistance—a unique phenomenon that intersects sexual health, sexual violence, and reproductive justice. Through theoretically grounded and data-driven research, Dr. Chen strives to advance the state of the science while making a meaningful impact on public health, clinical practice, and policy development.
