Your BSN@Home Experience
Join a Flexible Degree Program
Our fully online, asynchronous courses are designed with your busy schedule in mind. Choose from seven-week or 14-week formats and study when it works best for you—though there are set deadlines.
Choose Your Clinical Experiences
One required clinical involves about 60 hours of hands-on experience, along with related class assignments. Students arrange their own placements—with support from clinical placement coordinators—and can often find opportunities close to home.
Dynamic Capstone Experience
As you near graduation, you’ll complete a personalized capstone course that brings everything you’ve learned together. This experience is tailored to your interests, enhances your professional practice, and helps you apply your knowledge.
Get Support for Your Career
A BSN can open doors to teaching, management, and professional specialization. The BSN@Home program builds on those skills in a way that stimulates critical thinking and provides the professional perspective necessary for a leadership role.
Unique Statewide Collaboration
The UW–Madison School of Nursing is one of six Universities of Wisconsin System campuses offering the BSN@Home program. You can learn from experts in the field across the state.
BSN to RN Badger Nurses in Action
Maggie Cook Receives NAO Nursing Pin Award
For 12 years, Cook has worked in marketing, even owning and operating her own business towards the end of her first career choice. However, she noted that she was always encouraging friends and family who were preparing for their own college journeys to pursue a career in nursing because she herself regretted not going down that path.
“I have always had a strong passion for helping others,” Cook said. After realizing her true path was a career in nursing, and with the support of her husband, she made the decision to begin pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse.
