Practice Experience and Interests

Shoua is a first-year PhD student and researcher at the UW-Madison School of Nursing, collaborating with Dr. Lor and Dr. Alnuaimi. She has three years of research experience focusing on Hmong health and working as a student nurse assistant at UW-Hospital. Shoua’s research focuses on perinatal care nursing and reproductive health outcomes, specifically those with high-risk pregnancies, with the goal of developing culturally appropriate interventions to reduce adverse maternal-child health outcomes in racial and ethnic populations.
