Dr. Passmore studies ways to promote the ethical and equitable distribution of the benefits of health research. As a cultural anthropologist working in the science of community engagement, Dr. Passmore’s research program involves a focus the construction of researcher “trustworthiness” and the minimization of structural barriers to diversity. Through this work, she hopes to develop innovative and practical ways to support the inclusion of communities experiencing health disparities in science as a fundamental component of health equity. Dr. Passmore is also an affiliate of the Institute for Diversity Science.
