Bonny’s first 6 years as an RN were as a staff nurse on medical/surgical units at Methodist Hospital in Madison and community hospitals in Stoughton and River Falls.  She began to work in Obstetrics at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo in 1978 and continued in OB at South Haven Community Hospital when they moved to Watervliet, MI, in 1981. In addition to working as a staff nurse, she was a childbirth educator and a Neonatal Resuscitation Program instructor for all staff who were present at births. She did home visits for the Maternal and Infant Support Services Program for about a decade while working at South Haven for a small caseload of patients.  Bonny retired in 2014 when South Haven closed its OB unit. Since retirement, she has taught an occasional 1:1 childbirth education class at Hope Resources, a local nonprofit organization helping young parents.
