Dr. Chui’s overall research goal is to advance safe and effective medication use in community and health system settings. To achieve this goal, Dr. Chui leads an interdisciplinary research team that integrates principles of human factors engineering and implementation science to design, test, and sustain system-level interventions. Her work employs participatory design and hybrid effectiveness/implementation approaches to improve medication safety, and reduce health care professional workload and burnout. She also develops professional development pathways to support diverse scholars and future leaders in clinical and translational research. Dr. Chui teaches courses in health services research, and mentors PhD students, professional students, and early-career investigators, and leads the School of Nursing’s Excellence in Mentoring Initiative.
