Dr. Sarah Endicott is a Clinical Professor and Director of the DNP program at the UW–Madison School of Nursing. Sarah is a nurse practitioner dual board certified in psychiatric mental health and geriatrics with extensive experience caring for older adults across care settings. She maintains a clinical practice in psychiatry. Sarah teaches in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program as well as offering an interprofessional course in community supports for people living with dementia. Sarah was named a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence and she’s a fellow fo the National Academies of Practice.
Clinical Scholarship focus areas
Teaching and Learning
- Develops and evaluates geriatric content across the curriculum in the School of Nursing
- Creates and employs active learning strategies for online and in-person coursework
- Co-developer of an interprofessional graduate clinical preceptor workshop
Professional Practice and Education
- Principle author of a nationally distributed curriculum for home care nurses caring for people living with dementia
- Clinical expert contributor to toolkits for dementia friendly initiatives in the community and in the hospital setting
- Developed content and served as a primary educator for a geriatric nurse residency program for long-term care
- Presenter for CARE-U – a workshop developed to strengthen the elder-care workforce
