Biography

Education: BSN, Chamberlain University
ADN, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College

Clinical experience: I began my nursing career at Grant Regional Health Center, where I participated in an RN internship on a medical-surgical unit while completing my ADN. I also held an LPN license during this time. After becoming an RN, I continued working on the medical-surgical unit for a year while completing my BSN, before transitioning to the Medical-Surgical ICU at UnityPoint Health Meriter, where I currently care for critically ill adult patients.

Scholarly interests: Improving outcomes for critically ill and medically complex adults, early recognition and management of clinical deterioration, evidence-based acute care practice, and improving access to quality healthcare in rural and underserved communities.

Advanced practice goals: My goal is to become an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and practice in a rural emergency department, providing high quality care to medically complex and acutely ill patients. Coming from a rural community, I am passionate about giving back and improving access to advanced healthcare in rural communities.
